Tennis Wednesday Comp

Tennis tonight - I have to travel to Port Hacking, way down Gannons Road, Caringbah... The team is a friendly team - we always have a good match against this team, we should win, my knee is feeling good - so now just have to hit the ball. I shall let you know how I go........ I will wear my Swannies shirt, I will be like the red flash, dashing around the court, diving for volleys and the like.. It will be fun.

Tennis was great...... there was a bit of rain around, we had two rain delays, but we continued. During our mixed, I was playing with Steve, we were 2 games each, then a brief shower, we come off, and after the resumption, we had great rallies but the extra moisture seemed to help their pairing and we lost the set 2/6. Prior to that we were leading by 6 games, so now the lead is reduced to 2...... we should win easily.....but looking a bit dodgy now......John and Nicole step up to the plate... we win the first game John's serve, they win the second, they win the third Nicole's serve and now their girl serves, if we lose this game the night is a draw. But Nicole cracks some great forehands, all of a sudden we lead 0/40 and an easy put away volley for John and game set match. We scrape in by 2 games......... Just a bit close. Good night had by us.......

News - Mike passes his Drivers Licence Test

It was with great joy that Mike passed his Drivers Licence yesterday. We did feel a bit confused when the Instructor called us to the window and he mumbled something. To which Mike replied, "I think he said I passed" and I repeated "I think he said that you passed" then he said take a seat...... We were very excited...... Mike felt sure that he had done a few things wrong, he came back after the drive and pulled a face and felt he had failed.......So we wait for our name to be called...... was a long 5 minute wait. The Red P's were placed on the counter....... then we became overjoyed that he really did pass his driving test...... I kissed Mike on the cheek, hugged and generally giggled........ What a relief. The lady behind the counter asked if it was my first one to get his licence - oh no it is my 3rd but - it was such a joy. She said it won't last as I will be on the phone in a short while saying where are you and when are you coming home....... very funny. The photo was taken and you couldn't take the smile off Mikes face. It's a great photo. Mike kept saying 'that's insane' 'I passed' 'that's insane that I passed' - when we got back in the car I drove and we did loud whoooo hoooooos. We couldn't wait to spread the news. Told everyone on the computer, then told everyone at hockey. All I can say is that it is a big relief.... whew Well done Mike, now listen to your mother, drive very safely and carefully every day........

Hockey result

Went to Hockey instead of tennis, Was great match, St George running out winners 5/3, Mike took one for the team, this was sensational, he was leading down the wing, got out on his own and the ball was passed, Mike makes a neat trap, he took the ball into the D, the keeper attacked the ball taking a full length dive to block Mike, just as he was about to collide with Mike, he passed the ball to the centre of the D, the keeper takes Mike out, completely, meantime our player runs onto Mikes pass and a full length dive gets enough stick on the ball for a tap in .......GOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

fantastic play - Mike loses a bit of skin from elbow, hip, but the goal was reward enough.

Great game. Saints should hold down 4th spot, semi finals next week.

Go Saints.
